It’s not long now until the Adelaide Fringe opens for another year. This is the time where Adelaide really comes alive with artistic excitement.
All in all, the Open Mic scene in general handles the huge influx of competition pretty well. I’m hoping that some early arriving Fringe performers will grace the Open Mic stage and mix it up with the rest of us like they’ve done in recent years.
It’s an exciting time to be living in Adelaide.
Last weeks Open Mics at both The Dan and The Brunswick had provided some wonderful entertainment as well as an introduction to some new faces (see below)…
Poetic Scarlett (Con and Jo)
On a completely different topic… Darren and I have noticed the emergence of two distinct types of crowd who attends an Open Mic Network event.
The Open Mic @ The Dan has a more boisterous and social crowd who use The Dan as a meeting place, to catch up with friends and chew the fat with the amazing performances serving as a much needed backdrop to network to.
The Open Mic @ The Brunswick is more of a listening crowd and any conversations taking place are made in lower tones of voice as the audience experiences the superb sound and performance quality of the various Open Mic artists.
No matter which on you go to, you are guaranteed an amazing night out
